Dr. Adrienne P. Williams, MD, is a proud member of the Upper Valley since 1999. Originally from California, she relocated to attend Dartmouth Medical School, instantly falling in love with the area during her medical school interview visit. It became evident to her that she was destined to become a New Englander, and she has since spent more than half of her life as a resident of Norwich, VT. She enjoys spending time with her wife, son, daughter, and labrador retrievers. Her interests include outdoor activities such as cross-country skiing, road cycling, and rowing, as well as immersing herself in ongoing home renovation projects and cherishing quality time with her family.
Dr. Williams started her career in academic medicine, joining the faculty at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) in 2007 after completing her Residency in Anesthesiology at the same institution. She remained a full-time staff member until 2016, at which point she embarked on a new path by establishing ACUV. The motivation behind founding ACUV was Dr. Williams’ desire to reconnect with caring for her patients directly, fostering deep connections with them, and providing them the time and compassion they rightfully deserved. It was a personal quest for a fresh challenge, and she expresses gratitude to the Department of Anesthesiology for supporting her while her career evolved and her company flourished.
Dr. Williams specializes in bringing safe sedation practices into office settings, a contribution that has been warmly embraced by the community. She takes immense satisfaction in offering anesthesia and sedation options where there were previously none, finding fulfillment in helping others in ways that were previously unavailable. Her career trajectory continued to evolve, leading her to introduce ketamine and lidocaine infusions in her own office space. Witnessing her patients’ transformation from despair to happiness, anxiety to relaxation, and excruciating pain to pain-free is a gift that fuels her sense of purpose.
